A Word from the Director

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about Sydney Autism Centre.

My name is Mohamed Abdelsalam, and I founded Sydney Autism Centre with a clear purpose: to provide respectful, evidence-based, and genuinely helpful support to children, adults, and families navigating autism and complex behavioural needs.

For over ten years, I have worked closely with individuals and families across homes, schools, and community settings. Throughout this journey, I have seen how powerful the right support can be when it is built on understanding, compassion, and practical strategies that truly fit into everyday life.

I believe behaviour is a form of communication. Our role is not simply to manage challenges, but to understand what each person is telling us through their behaviour and to build meaningful skills that support independence, confidence, and quality of life.

Sydney Autism Centre was created to offer families a service that is professional, ethical, and reliable — a place where you feel heard, supported, and respected. We work collaboratively with families, carers, educators, and other professionals to ensure our strategies are realistic, consistent, and focused on long-term outcomes.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey. It is a privilege to support the individuals and families we work with.

Qualified and experienced leadership

Our Professional Background

Sydney Autism Centre is led by a highly qualified practitioner with a Master’s degree in Behaviour from the United States and over nine years of experience in the autism and behavioural support field. This background supports a clinical, structured approach grounded in research, assessment, and real-world application.

We work with both children and adults, recognising that autism presents differently across life stages. Our experience spans early intervention, Positive Behaviour Support, and collaborative work with families, carers, educators, and support networks.

Individual-focused and practical

Our Approach at Sydney Autism Centre

At Sydney Autism Centre, we take time to understand the individual behind the diagnosis. Our approach focuses on identifying underlying needs, recognising strengths, and developing strategies that are realistic and sustainable.

Support plans are developed through careful assessment, observation, and collaboration. We prioritise clear communication, consistency, and practical strategies that can be applied confidently by families and carers in daily routines.

Respecting diversity and communication

Inclusive and Culturally Respectful Care

We value inclusion, respect, and connection in every aspect of our work. Sydney Autism Centre offers support in both English and Arabic, helping ensure clear communication and culturally respectful care for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.

We believe everyone deserves access to quality autism support that recognises cultural values, family dynamics, and personal preferences.
